Food-Info.net> Questions and Answers > Food products > Coffee Is coffee harmful to the stomach or does it cause (stomach) ulcers? No. There is no conclusive evidence to suggest that drinking coffee is bad for the stomach. Neither has research shown that drinking of coffee leads to the formation of either gastric (stomach), or duodenal (upper intestinal) ulcers. There is also no need for ulcer patients to stop drinking coffee if they suffer no symptoms from it. Coffee itself does not have an impact on the severity of ulcers.
